Alot has happened in the past six months. I told my orthopedic surgeon I was ready to go to the next level of trying something else other than physical therapy and exercise to receive more pain releif. He ordered a discogram after looking over the most recent MRI. One of my lowest disks did not look good L5 S1. This test would confirm the low back pain. This was a difficult test to endure. It did confirm that the disk was degenerative. The next step was surgery the procedure is called an ALIF and is similar to a fusion. It has been 7 weeks since surgery. And I have had some substancial improvement. Its so great to get out of bed and not be in any pain. The surgeon said it would take care of 70% of the pain and that has been the case. Im going to start some p.t. next week. And as time goes on things could still continue to improve. Im very happy with my choice.
