Hi I've been going to pain management for 6 months, I have tried all sorts of narcotic pain meds fentalyn patch

Avinza, percocets and norco.  I only feel comfortable with the norco on a daily bases.  I don't want to get addicted to any of the stronger pain meds.  my question is I don't think my dr believes Im in pain.  He is giving me 1 norco every 6 hrs.
My tolerance is so high right now that that is not controlling the pain, so last month I ran out early was scared to call because I didn't want him to think I was a drug seeker.  do you think i should find another Dr or just stay with him and tell him the truth.
thanks

If your doctor finds out you are taking a narcotic pain medication more freqently than the prescription says, he or she is likely to cut you off completely and put a note about your non-compliance in your permanent medical records. That could make it very hard to ever get pain management again in the future. If the medication is not working as prescribed and you want to stay out of trouble, you basically have two choices: (1) call your doctor and get permission before increasing the dose, or (2) go to an emergency room and be evaluated there.
