My daughter went in for a simple out-patient procedure on January 15, 2009.  She had opted for a tubal ligation and while the surgery went well there were complications after the surgery due to human error.  My daughter typically has low blood pressure which her surgeon was aware of, however, after the surgery her blood pressure had dropped very low and the anesthesiologist had ordered a dose of ephedrine.  However, the nurse grabbed epinephrine instead and administered a dose of 10 mg of epi IV push.  She suffered a heart attack and coded for 3 minutes.  Compressions were performed as well as a defibrillator was administered.  She now has constant chest pain, a heart murmur and a leakage of one of her valves.  My question is the pain is constant and at time very difficult to work through, what can be done to help her with this pain?  We have been to a physician at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois and he could not find an answer for us.  Can you direct us to another avenue?  She was a very healthy 30 year old woman prior to this happening to her and was never sick as a child but now she has a difficult time getting through a day.  She has two very active toddlers, ages 4 and 2 and the youngest has hydrocephalus (reason for tubal) and they keep her very busy.  Please give us a suggestion of where to turn, she really needs someones help.  Thank you for your time.
