i had a fem/pop mar,08 and am still in pain.  The pain starts in the groin area and continues to about half way to my knee.  My doctor said he has no idea how long I will have the pain.  Do you have any idea how long and why I still have the pain?  The graft that was used was with rings.  Could this be why it still hurts?  Is there a support group that will help deal with this?  Also in Oct.07 I had popitial nerve block for surgery on my fifth metatarsal.  I had no problems with this until I quit taking the heavy pain pills.  Than I starting having burning pain from my knee to my foot.  I started going to the pain clinic for treatment of this only to be put on other pain pills and a transdermal patch. For the most part the burning,stabbing pain has gone away but I still have the numbness and tingling from the knee through the the foot.  How long should I look forward to the pain?  When I asked the pain clinic doc how long I would have this he said if the feeling comes back at all it could be anywhere from 2 to 5 years.  Is this true?  I have talked to other doctors about this and they said they could "snip" the nerve and I wouldn't have the pain any longer.  Is this true?  Hoping to hear from you soon  Thank you for your time..
