I had surprise double by-pass surgery (both main arteries) 15 years ago, at 54 - history of inherited coronary artery disease and smoking. Presently I am having trouble with my legs and feet, feeling heavy and cramping toes frequently or leg cramps. Cramping comes on at night, or walking on thin-soled shoes, when I flex legs or feet without moving carefully. What could be causing this?
My lifestyle changed completely after surgery with low-fat diet and exercise and I remain a 'star'
patient now at 69, with reversal. I normally work out 3-4 times a week (aiming for at
least 5), walking two miles and then weight train. My cholesterol is 131 with 80 HDL/34 LDL - 1.6 ratio. I have had vascular sonogram on legs and passed that. My medication is Lipitor, Maxide, Requip (generics) for these issues. I do take Spiriva for COPD.
I'm not certain this is CAD related, but that's always my main focus. I'd be grateful for any insight you could provide.
Thank you.
