I have been on lipitor for over 5 years now and have not had any problems with side effects at all from it, in fact this is the only statin that has ever lowered my ldl, cholesterol and tri's,to a normal level, i am a vet and they told me they want to switch me to crestor cause the va no longer gets lipitor, i do not want to change but i cannot afford to buy my own lipitor, i am on ss and living on a very fixed income.Do you think i should change, i was on other statins in the past and had no luck with them at all, they never lowered my levels and i usually ended up with bad chest pains from these drugs, My opinion is why switch when what i am taking works.

Another question- do you know of any place i can get help in getting lipitor, my doctor at the va said he would write me a script, i've tried quite a few places already and no one can help me yet, i even tried parke-davis and they said no to me also...

Also i should tell you i was in the hospitol in April cause of edema in my legs and they found out that i have a leaky tricuspid valve and my right side of my heart is enlarged cause of this, I've lost about 40 lbs since then but it is very difficult at my age,is there a diet i can follow that i would be able to afford?

thank you

sandra lockwood
