On one of the morning shows this past week (don't remember which one), there was a discussion of fruits & vegetables, ie.,  pumpkin and its seeds, dried prunes, blueberries, pomegranate juice, cabbage, swiss chard, bok choy & cinnamon, one of which was said to help the body maintain its regulation of insulin.  Do you know which one it is and what the daily consumption amount would be?

Thanks for your input!

Hi and thank you for your question.

Here is part of the transcript from the Good Morning America segment from last week
. Matt Bean from Men's Health Magazine talks about foods that have been shown to improve one's health:

Cinnamon is not just the dust on top of a thousand calorie cinnamon roll. It's actually something you can add in with yogurt or you can even sprinkle a couple of scoops in with your coffee, either in with the grounds or with the coffee itself. And cinnamon is a really, really great nutrient because it mimics the effect of insulin in the blood, so it's going to help you improve your body's ability to process blood sugar. That's why it's so fantastic.

However, diabetes experts do not recommend cinnamon be used to regulate blood sugar. Here is a link to more information from the American Diabetes Association:

If you have any other questions, please feel free to post them on this discussion board, and we'll work to get them answered.
