My mother was diagnosed 20 years ago with Type 2 Diabetes. She chose not to undergo any treatment. Five years ago she suffered a stroke brought on by severe stress (both parents died within 5 days of each other). She has recently been showing early signs of what I believe to be kidney disease-swelling of legs (fluid retention). Also, a slight murmur was just found (this week). Is  there any treatment that can now be taken to help or is it too late?
