Hi abcnews53 and thank you for your question. Here is an answer to your question from Robin Kerner, Ph.D., Director, Quality Initiatives and Outcomes, St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center:
It sounds like you have been suffering for a long time and are having a hard time finding a doctor who is able to really listen to your problems and work together to figure out what to do next. Sometimes it can take awhile to understand what's going on, especially when it's been going on for a long time. It's also not unusual to have to try different medications until you find the right one or combination of medications to make your symptoms better. So I encourage you to keep trying to find a doctor with whom you feel comfortable and who is willing to take the time to work with you. I also think you would benefit from working with a psychologist because the kinds of difficulties you are describing often need talk therapy in addition to medication. Your depression and anxiety, as well as the other difficulties you describe can be helped once it becomes clearer what's really going on.
I know what you mean. I get them all the time and also have strange thoughts crossing my mind sometimes.
