Too bad the President elect couldn't set an example by choosing a dog from the pound and saving a dog's life. I guess to some status is more important, then doing what is right.  We have to put down to many dogs because of this kind of attitude.

i understood that the PE is going to adopt the dog from a purebred rescue group.

with all the things that are going on in the world this whole dog hoorara seems pretty trivial. who cares? why are they even getting a dog? the family has not allowed those children to have one up until now. i think it is a really bad idea to adopt a pet for the first year of settling in.

promise = bribe. LOL i simply suggest that it is not advisable add a dog into an already stressful environment. the family should settle in before they take on the additional complication of a dog. this is further compounded by the fact that this is a FIRST "first dog". this would apply to any family, not just the first family.
