My kitten is 3 months old.  Does anyone have any polite suggestions for stopping him meowing and sometimes scratching at my bedroom door during the early hours? I feed him dry food and always make sure he has lots of water. I'm not sure but suspect it could be just the attention he wants whilst waking me up at 3 in the morning in the process.

I've tried shooting a water pistol under the door but the door is kinda low! Does anyone have any other suggestions?

 Kind regards,

Andy

We have 2 cats and one is a Japanese bob tail and full of energy and has a lot of personality.  The only way I get her to behave is to really get on to her and she knows, but a squirt water bottle is about the only thing that will work for the most part.  They will get the message, but they will give you some looks.  So keep up with the water bottle and scold your cat.  He/she will get used to your routine and then maybe he/she won't bother you that early.  However, putting them in their own room helps a lot! You are then able to sleep and they can play or do whatever they do at night without bothering you while you sleep.  If you do that, make sure you get some kind of sticker that firemen or police know you have animals in that room.  So if your house or apt is on fire they can try to get them.  Hope this helps.
