My "comeback" concerns applying for a job transfer from Houston to Michigan. My company uses an on-line job postings. I appears there is no way to distinguish between an INTERNAL applicant with 10 years experience from the hundreds of external applicants. How can I be sure my resume is being viewed? If my employer supports hiring inside the company, how can I be sure this is the case? My H.R. department tells me the online posting is new or that the managers are being trained on it. What can I do to enforce my companies own hiring mission?

I live in Michigan...make sure the job you are transfering to is secure because right now in Michigan NO job is secure not even state employee jobs
Good luck

Make sure you're also emailing and calling the necessary people internally so that you call attention to your qualifications, etc.  Don't rely on any online system.
