TORY, after 8 years in the Banking Industry I was laid off, after finding the job I thought was the perfect fit.  I have had no luck finding something else and think it may have to do with my credit bureau report, the last year has been rough I have been the only person working in my household leaving me responsible to handle everything so some things were put off till the money came in.  How do companies view this consumer report for hiring employees.

Depending on the position, many companies will view your credit report -- and they won't hire you if the score is low.  If you know they're going to run a report, warn them in advance that your score isn't high but that youre working to repair it. Sometimes there are circumstances that are legit -- an illness, unemployed spouse, etc -- and they'll accept that rationale. Just be sure you're working on getting it cleaned up.
