Can you tell me how to write a resume where I had 8  related jobsand a ten year gap due to raising children and now I am 50?

One thing I did was to organize my resume in a different format - I have lived in many different places and have had many different, unrelated positions.  In the first section I list the projects that best fit the position I'm seeking.  Then I have a "management" section and a "marketing (or whatever)" section.  I still put the dates in but its more topically organized.

This is interesteing info and thak you.  My situation is that I worked for 8 years in the same filed with three different employers then took ten years off and now have eight more years with four different employers.  Should I just include the last eight years and not the other work?  I am a pharmaceutical sales rep and was just downsized at 50.

You can create a FUNCTIONAL document, not a chronological one. Go to google and search for FUNCTIONAL resume samples and you'll get some good tools to refer to.  Good luck!
