We have a 3-year-old King Charles Cavalier that appears to suffer from syrimgomyelia (scratching disease) a genetic defect in this breed's spinal column. We've read quite a bit about it and have her on prednisone 5 mg every other day but know we can't continue to do this without doing her further damage. Are there any other treatments we should be considering for this particular problem? We are open to trying most anything if it will help her not have to suffer with these scratching "spells" she gets occassionally. Otherwise she is in very good health. Thanks!!
