I have three children ages 9, 3 and 7 months... What is the best thing to give them when they have runny noses, coughs or colds? Also what dose should I be ginving them? Are they correct on the boxes? For my 7 month old, I am never sure of the amount due to it always says to consult a doctor under the age of two... I want to make sure not to overdose my children like you had mentioned on the show this morning... Thanks for your help with this...

You are hitting the nail on the head. There's no dosage information ... because the FDA does not have any evidence on which to base a dosage recommendation. That's one reason why I and other pediatricians and public health officials think these cough and cold products should not be used by children under the age of six. Save yourself the money--see my other responses for some specific steps you can take for mild colds.
