Dr Mike, I have to be on prednisone for extended time period due to autoimmune hepatitis. It has raised my cholesterol 100 points already! G.I. doctor did not want to give me statin or welchol due to liver issues. I have adjusted my diet but have history of heart disease in family. what do you suggest to help? Don't need a cardiac event on top of what has happened already.
