This shouldn't even be news. We're not allowed to spank our children for fear of governmental retribution. And now were not supposed to yell at them either? Maybe we should just sit them in a corner until they are 18. Lets keep candy coating the world for our children. We are in the process of raising an overly sensitive, spineless generation of children who are not going to know how to function in the real world when they are adults. While I don't agree with Alec's choice of words, they were just that.... words.

I agree. And for all we know, this could be taken totally out of context. I would hate for every comment I made to my child to be published in the news media! In fact, there are times when children ARE pigs ... and should be told as much!

Yeah, they might only be words BUT it came out of her fathers mouth, someone shes supposed to look up to and respect. Would you want your mother/father yelling at you like that?? I mean, yeah, people get angry, yell, and punish, but to be so cruel to your own child?? What the heck?? And the world today is FAAAR from being sugar coated!! Kids are going to see that cruelty elsewhere, why should they have to put up with it from her own parent?

Its media, thats what they do. Any celebrity in the spotlight knows what they've got coming for themselves. Their lives are no longer private. If they dont like it, get out of the spotlight. And im sorry, but If i heard someone talking to their child like he did, I would REALLY start to wonder whats going on. I dont take things like that lighty. Child abuse is NOT ACCEPTABLE..verbally or physically.

How it was leaked to the press is not the story here folks! Leave it to you liberals to try and spin this. He was leaving a message for his 11 year old daughter, it was terrible, and in light of what happened this past week with a crazed mad man killing over 30 people I would think its kinda important. Maybe the person exposing this nut case is afraid of him. Words are a serious abuse form especially when you are little child. Your as bad as he is if you are searching for excuses. I am ashamed for you as well.
