For all of you who justify Baldwin's actions or think people should stay out of their business ... is there any one of you who would talk to your 12-year-old child that way? I hope not! I've had lots of times I couldn't get through on my kids cell phones (which I pay for) and we went through the trials of a divorce as well. But never in a million years would I take my anger out on my children. While it's true that children need their Dad, and need desperately to believe their noncustodial parent loves them (thus I agree Kim should not undermine that), taking your anger out on your child accomplishes nothing. If he treats his child this way, how did he treat Kim?

I agree there is no justification for talking to a child that way and he was wrong but making it public? Well if Kim's aim is to protect her child I think that she made the situation worse. It's a custody battle and a private family matter, not a media event. His conversation should definitely have been brought up in court but for the rest of us, It's none of our business and this whole situation shows me that both Kim and Alec need to grow up.

To you and to me, the word pig may mean a lot. To some people it may mean nothing. Some people, including families, get into the "friendly obscenity" type of greeting. Haven't you seen them around? Calling each other nasty names and then shaking hands or hugging? You and I do not know how meaningful the word pig is to the Baldwins.

Oh my God...This is the WORSE excuse of all. If you listen to the tone of the conversation, it is clear what was meant by PIG.

We know what Alex Baldwin said about his daughter because we heard the phone conversation. But is it fair to just assume Kim Basinger was the one to make it public. Maybe she gave it to her attorney because it WAS a threatening phone message. Baldwin had already berated his daughter over the phone so what did it mean when he said he was coming out to set her straight? It sounded more threatening than just another screaming rant. She should have turned it over to the police but I think she gave it to her attorney. Just because Alex Baldwin is a "movie star" doesn't mean he is not violent or has not been violent in the past to Kim or his daughter. My contention is you don't know who made it public or for what reasons.

Yes. I would and have lost my temper with my children. I would never beat them or physically injure them however I have been known to give them a tongue lashing. His tongue lashing was not as bad as some I have heard and experienced from my own parents.

Alec should take Kim and his daughter to see the Berlin stage production of "Iphigenia". Although children of 18 ar not permitted, I'm sure Ireland has not been confirmed, batmitzah or indoctrinated yet into adulthood!
