Minority male casting is very interesting. They show non Caucasian females in a lot of different and provocative contexts but rarely the males. Let us face it minority women get treated with more dignity. I also believe this is why so many of the Asian girls end up with Caucasian men while the Asian men are very disgusted at times, with the recent polls stating Asian males would have to make in excess of 200k to be considered while blacks and Hispanics would be considered before them. It is interesting and in my opinion a matter of dignity. The Chinese actor from law and order was griping about this recently saying he never gets casted in romantic situations almost as if he is not cute and it pisses him off. I notice this with Indians also, if they are shown it is with black women for some reason. Black women are nice and polite about these things, but the matching is not exactly accurate. . . I think personally I could give Ken Wahl for example a run for his money if I lost about 40 pounds or so, but who would give me the chance? I am almost sure if I screen tested it would not be in any kind of a Ken Wahl context. We as Asian males are very obviously out of our medium but how come the females are not-dignity in my opinion.
