It has been brought to my attention that ABC's TV show  20/20 will be doing a story tonight where your reporter John Stossel, will suggest that tiger farming is a good idea.

I kindly request your re-consideration in presenting this story with such a mis-leading point of view by Mr. Stossel, given that tiger farming is everything but a good idea.    in fact is A VERY BAD IDEA.   These wild animals do not belong in cages.. they belong in the wild..  There are criminal activities involved with tiger farming for trade and this has devastading effects on wild tigers.  Why tigers would ever be farmed in the first place?

The fact is that tiger farms exist to make money for wealthy businessmen who want to re-open the trade in tiger parts so that they can generated profits.   As if these beautiful animals were pieces of merchandise or goods to be traded  The businessmen who own tiger farms would like to fool us into thinking .. as apparently they did Mr. Stossel - that tiger farming is the only way to save this doomed species.

Tiger farming actually contributes to poaching, and could ultimately lead to the extinction of this majestic and vital species.  Tigers raised in farms  never develop the skills they need to survive in the wild.

The simple solution to save wild tigers is not tiger farming.  It's the strengthening and enforcement of existing laws.

As a means of communication, you have the responsibility to cover all angles of a story to avoid presenting misleading information to the public.  Let's evolve as a human race and develop "true" compassion  for all living creatures.
