I just saw the tease on GMA about John's piece on the price pregnant women inflict on corporations. GIMME A BREAK. I stopped paying much attention to Stossel's pieces years ago when his research on nurtition was successfully challenged. Such short-sighted, opinionated perspectives serve no one but John's own ego. Never mind that pregant women are integral to the survival of any society, and already pay a high price for making the decision to bear children.. I can't believe after all the so-called U.S. "respected" corporations and bastions of business have recently been revealed to be not much more than a club of  greedy, self-serving, parasites of American people, John thinks they should be given free reign on hiring and firing anyone who imposes any kind of cost to the company.

Why on earth would ABC exec's think it a great idea to run this piece on Mother's Day Week-end, especially after GMA's Mother's Day Appreciation segment, featuring "Breakfast in Bed" for a mother whose son recently died of testicular cancer? Talk about hypocrisy. Are you kidding me? You can be sure I will not be tuning in. Shame on you..

I strongly, strongly agree that pregnant women should have employment protection.  Many, many years ago when I was pregnant with my children, there were few protections for women even though we are the only members of this species who can reproduce.  Getting pregnant seemed to be a choice while birth control was seen as some kind of sinful secret.  I really find it totally confusing that while we would like to see our species continue, we are constantly finding fault with women for getting pregnant.  During our written history, we have used religion, morality, evil spirits, etc. etc. to create the impression that women who are pregnant are either angels or demons.  It is all so ridiculous that I can only drop my mouth in amazement that now someone would use such a stupid idea of workplace as a means of putting women who get pregnant in their proper place.  Idiots!
