I was surprised that gun shows are so unregulated. However, I was uncertain whether they sell handguns there. The  20/20 segment "If I only had a gun" shows their undercover guy coming back from the gun show with long guns. They did show him buying a handgun before entering the show. This must have been an illegal transaction: buying outside the facility. If he did not come out of the gun show with any handguns, they certainly implied that you could buy handguns without even giving a name. Or did they try to buy handguns inside and when they had to register it, then ABC did not want to show this? Just wondering.

Hopefully he was not chosen as the person to buy all those weapons because of his name and appearance of some middle eastern extraction. Was there a hidden message from ABC to see how even a person that looks this this can get such guns? Or were they hoping to see some hassle he might get because of his appearance?

PS I am not a gun enthusiast and I am an European-American, 2nd generation.

I work in the gun shows in the Washington, Maryland and Virginia areas. It is perfectly legal to purchase a firearm from an individual at a show if they are not a dealer. 20/20 implied that the person selling the Glock was a dealer by calling him a "seller". There was nothing illegal about the transaction.

The show did continue with their fictions when the person entering the classroom as the shooter, targeted the student that was holding the gun. With the camera on the shooter, you can see them go specifically to that person and ignore the rest of the class.
