I think it's ridiculous that ABC only filmed specific areas, where poverty is at it's worst. I am completely disgusted with the show, and believe that they have now given all people in the Appalachian area a bad name. Where I'm from, no one, and I mean NO ONE lives that way.  We don't all drink soda and take prescription drugs. The majority of the people in this area are clean, have good jobs and don't have to walk to work or school. I am sorry that there are people who have no choice but to walk, but for the most part, we're just like any other town in the U.S.  I think that ABC should come back and show the world how the majority of people here actually do live. We're not all in poverty.

I ABSOLUTELY AGREE WITH mon_28. I live in the mountains and I absolutely love it. Talking about us being on drugs and living in poverty Look around the rest of the world. The majority of the people who live here do not live that way and I really took offense to them doing this type of show. I started to watch the show but I got so mad I had to turn it off. I'd like to know one place that don't have drug addicts. No one can name one place. I guess No one in hollywood or any other city does drugs. Excuse me but they do alot harder drugs. So before you start talking about Kentucky you should look around your house and out your back door because you have no idea what you are talking about.   FROM NOW ON BEFORE RUNNING A STORY GET ALL THE FACTS FIRST.

the reason they did it was to inform the country of how they live so that we can help eachother out. no one thinks that all the people that live in the mountains are like that (drink soda, dont have cars, etc) so dont begin to think it. as a whole in this country we help poverty and hunger throughout the world but in reality we have it "in our back yard". i believe it was very important that this clip was shown. so stop being so selfish in saying it was terrible that this clip was made, because i too live in the mountains and i might not have a whole lot but i am thankful that EVERYONE will be given an equal opportunity in life with the help of our country.
