Happen to see the clip 60 Minutes on the Bloom Box.  The guy will become a billionaire off this, but it seems like technological hyperbole to me.  Not too remote from the cold fusion assertion of Stanley Pons and Martin Fleischmann from U of UT.  They were such a buzz and it was thought they had achieved the holy grail of cold fusion.   It was later found to be a flop.  If this guy has developed a new type of fuel cell, I would be exceedingly curious as to the chemistry of it, which in my opinion can be easily surpassed.  I believe the critic when he says, yes in 10 years but with GE on it.  I agree, patents are not as useful as people think since companies can make slight variations on it and get their own patents.  Frankly, if this bloom box is for real, folks like GE and Siemens will quickly reverse engineer and refine it.  And get their own patents.  I admire the fellow’s idealism though, and he will be set for life many items over with this.  But as for the holy grail of energy, I doubt it.  I actually have more faith in High density Hydrogen cells and other variants.
