you yave freedom of religion.. not from religion.
You can not have freedom of religion without freedom from religion. The whole point of freedom of religion is that people should be free to believe as their conscience tells them to, without coercion or interference from government. But if you do not have freedom
from
religion, this means government is favoring a particular belief set (belief in a deity) and discriminating against another (those who do not believe in gods and/or religions).
Also if you do not have freedom from religion, then government is free to set up a state religion, just as if there were no freedom of religion. Gov't just tells you in that case that you are still free to believe in your own religion, but it will teach the state religion in the schools and give preferential treatment to state religion adherents in gov't policies. Without freedom
from
religion, freedom
of
religion is meaningless. Freedom from religion isn't just for atheists and non-affiliated theists.
Besides, aren't believers always saying that atheism is just another religion anyways?
