Salam:

First of all, not everything that goes on in the Middle East or with regard to Muslims is Al-Qaida. What is Al-Qaida anyway? OBL was with a group of 'rag-tags' that sought protection in the Taliban. It was never nor is it now a global organization. That is a product of American 'lumping' everything as being "Al-Qaida done."

India and China had problems in the past, so India wants Kashmir as a buffer zone in case of Chinese invasion. The Pakistanis must be seeing economic gains in Kashmir.

The important thing to realize is that in the Middle East and India/Pakistan region there are conflicts over governance, economics, tribalism that have nothing to do with "Al-Qaida" if there is such a thing.
