I think people are too wimpy nowadays.  You can barely say anything without getting offended and making a federal case out of it.  I don't think religion needs to be segregated from all other topics of discussion in life and society.  Sure, we need to respect one another and be able to respectfully disagree.  I raise the topic of faith and Jesus Christ with people I talk with, and if they are not interested, that's fine.  I like to talk about sports too and there are people who have no interest in sports so I don't force that conversation either.  Now I know conversations can get heated, emotions can get high on certain topics, but let's face it, respectful dialogue is not rocket science!  :-)

I hear some folks on this board say they have been acosted (spelling?) by people trying to peddle their religion.  Granted, there are some religious nutjobs out there who won't take no for an answer, but I don't think they are that common.  I think some people just overreact when approached about religion...I've been acosted!  I'm not saying that's every situation.  Regardless, you can't tell people how they should or shouldn't talk about their faith...book, art, or whatever.  Granted, you may respond better to one way or another, but we've each got a right to free speech (to be used responsibly).
