Not one atheist has ever said that science is or is like any type of god.

The first poster is a typical example of the believer who sees science as a competing belief system and a threat to his own beliefs.  He has very little idea of how science actually works.  He does not seem to comprehend the evidence-based (as opposed to faith-based) nature of science, and as is pretty common among believers, sees scientific theories to be nothing more than hunches, educated guesses or part of the Scientific Gospel.
