It's so obvious that the whole Don Imus thing was a fully choreographed, poorly scripted, and very badly acted publicity stunt aimed at generating free publicity for BOTH Imus and Sharpton. The taxpaying public was taken for an expensive ride on that one.

It definitely was a major publicity stunt for Rutgers University and its women's basketball team, and for Rev. Sharpton also.  The basketball coach used the four most fake and ingenuous words in the English language: "deplorable, despicable, abominable and unconscionable".

Whether it was a stunt by Imus, it's doubtful.
