I don't have statistics, but everyone I know in my family has Type 2 diabeties. My aunt was diagnosed in her mid-late 30's and she is now 85years old and going strong. All of my aunts and uncles have had diabeties for more than 40 years and are doing fair to fine. I think the key is how well you manage you diabetes and keeping your blood sugars within range on a day to day basis. Eating right and exercise are really important.
