I'm not sure if you were referring to me but maybe you misunderstood. What I was stating is that continuing to use carbon-based fuels (even ethanol and recycled biofuels) will emit pollution - there is an amalgam of pollutants as a result of burning fossil and bio fuels (including C02, its part of the chemistry of combustion). One of the reasons for the continuance is the ubiquitious internal combustion engine. What I am referring to is that the energy is best used for constructive measures. Projects that develop alternative energy, construct the means to stop pollution at the source, or other means that benefit humanity. I'm well aware of the changes that are occurring that indicate a changing global temperature and climate. Also, mass extinctions have occurred throughout history (part of the fossil record and hypotheses abound concerning the causes). Yet, homo sapiens has been directly responsible for many - no doubt about that. Yeah, in a world where there isn't anything of value left to exploit - money means nothing. Btw, even the richest of us are the most clueless or careless. Must be about that materialism thing - why do you think "green" has become a marketing scheme?
