Age discrimination is becoming a real problem in the country. In addition to dividing the country along racial, gender, and political lines, the power realities have convinced US that younger workers are more valuable to the company; and, older workers no longer have what it takes to get the job done. However, any thinking person can see corporate America is using the "youth card" to justify cost cutting measures.
Recently, I have met several older workers who feel they have either been passed over or not even considered for promotion because the company selected younger and less experienced workers for a position opening. And, to a great extent, the older worker's education and credentials where just as current as the younger workers education and credentials.
The same group of people who sold us a bill of goods on how good the outsourcing of job s would be for the America people is now trying to put us 50 somethings out to pasture.
