Quitting smoking after 30 years has been the best thing I have ever done for myself in the 48 years I have been alive. On 12/20 it will be 5 months smoke free and I feel so good! I am at the point where once in a great while I will have a craving for a smoke, but I can just ignore the urge. My wife and kids are so proud of me, my parents also and for the life of me I can't even remember why I even started. Any more I don't care why I started, all I know is that I am done with smoking forever and I do mean that. I was so ready to quit, I only used my patches for 9 days and haven't used them since. As a matter of fact I had about 3 weeks of the patches left and I gave them to a good friend who wanted to quit and he did! we got a 2 fer out of those patches! Ain't it grand! I think the most important thing when quitting is that in your heart and mind you must be ready to do it. If one or the other isn't ready, it is not going to happen. I had tried 10 - 12 times before this to quit and it never happened, and I know now that I just wasn't ready. I was this time. It is a struggle for a few days but, it is so worth the pain and agony, it is incredible. Anymore being around people who are smoking does not even faze me, I know I did the right thing for me!!!!
