My parents were both dead by the time they were 44 - caused by smoking. Dad died at age 43 from lung cancer that spread to his brain. Mom died at age 44 from COPD and emphysema. My sister was an orphan at age 16. I was on my own at age 20. I had lost my parents, my children did not get to know their grandparents. We had teenage years of illness, hospitals and lonliness. While my friends had their parents at the graduations and parties, we came alone. Think about this when you are lighting up another cigarette and your child is sitting next to you. Do you want to be there in 5, 15, 25 years? Not a day goes by when I don't think of my parents and not miss them and the days and times lost. Thanks.
