It is sad and interesting that two different young college females were killed because of the violent usa crime.  I remember on a talk show a few years back a Detroit police officer who was white mentioning that one is 5 times more likely to be a victim at the hands of a black man than a white man.  The audience was in an uproar.  Jesse Jackson put some context on it by mentioning in a different setting that more than 95% of this violent crime occurs within the same community.  So it is actually the black community that experiences the brunt of this but the media happens to be preoccupied with pretty white girls who get killed of course for ratings in addition to the humanity of it all.

A few years back during that infamous murder of the pregnant female whom the husband later blamed on a black man for a robbery gone bad.  And we latter find out it was actually him upon which he commits suicide.  Well, while that fiasco was going on a black man was talking about how his daughter was brutally murdered and raped in the same neighborhood around the same time and nobody cared… So this crime which happens to get attention when pretty white girls get killed is actually much more prevalent within ones own community.  But what concerns me is why is media coverage becoming more “soap opera” like.  I am having an increasingly difficult time discerning tabloids such as “Current Affair” and “Inside Edition” from the network news.
