Hello. I am a part of an 85 year old hand weaving company in Kentucky. The Smithsonian says we are the first "craft industry" in America. Our name is Churchill Weavers. While the wonderful Peter Jennings was still on the air, he did a World News Tonight Feature on American Textile workers, or the extinction thereof. It was wonderful. I tried and tried to purchase a copy so that I might show people. Last year alone 250 mills were put out of business in America (ATMA). That means jobs, families, unemployment - imports........ Since that time I have received a grant to do a small documentary on Churchill Weavers. We believe we are still in business because we are 100% hand woven in America. There are no power looms here. Anyway, I have done quite a bit of video work at KET for PBS and the new GED (+ freelancer). I will be in New York from the 11th until the 18th of August. If there is anyway for me to purchase the audio or a vhs tape, please help me. It is VITAL to my project. What is most important would be for GMA or ABC to find credibility in our story and do another feature. I would LOVE to speak to a producer. We are feeling the heat - and saving what is left of America's meager industrial complex - at least to me....would be one way to help us not be import consumers and help our manufacturers keep their jobs! I would really appreciate someone's guidance. And for once, it would be fantastic if it could be a "YES!". Thank you. Respectfully. Stay inspired. Tara Bellando Churchill Weavers 859-986-3126
