My feelings are that we should stop the exploitation of birds in the world by not selling them as if they are merchandise, especially now, at this time, when bird diseases are on the rampage, not only flu, but chlamidia, psittacosis, giardia, avian flu, etc. We must discontinue the sale and breeding of pet birds in all stores. Birds do not make good pets, especially large parrots who bite very hard, scream and self mutilate. What is the point of keeping them in captivity. Instead of attempting to bond with birds, which is in itself totally ridiculous, we should try to focus our energies on developing a better rapport with our fellow human beings, which in the long run will prove much more beneficial to the human race and the world. Remember 9/11. And for those people who make a living selling live merchandise, please get a respectable job. We are in the dawn of a new century; women, minorities, gays all have rights, so let us now give them to the birds of this world. Slavery is gone, Hitler is gone....this is the time for freedom for all living creatures. Birds as pets are held captive in cages behind bars. Birds born with wings who are meant to fly free. For more information on how to make the world a better place for humans and birds, please visit our website, which is: http://www.manhattanbirdclub.com And please spread the word. Blessings to those who took the time to read this.
