my wife and I bought a manufactured home in Brookings Oregon ,in a park owned by a family of lily bulb farmers. they are suposed to follow oregon landlord tenant rules and reg. but  because we are trying to sell our home .we put a forsale sign on the exterior  of our home and the park owners wanted it in the window . they sued for eviction . we had to hire an attorney ($20,000.00 ) so far . the eviction was overturned .but the landlord has appealed and so the case goes to the appeal court ( more money ) Oregon law says placement of signs  may be in or on your manufactured dwelling. they came after us because we formed a homeowners ####. and started to ask questions on getting things done with in the park . and we even picketed the park .and that seemed to be the thing that got their attention and they began to single us out to prove to all the park home owners ,not to go against them.

we both are living on social security and our home is all we have .

the issues started when we found as many of the other home owners did that the park owners would not finish projects and told many of us that they would build a club house and a indoor pool . and the pool is why we and several other home owners purchased our homes . the park has now 20 homes for sale by home owners ,29 homes not  for sale ,30 empty lots and get this the park owners are loosing intrest in the park and want to sell it to anyone that wants to purchase it . the park owners are not good at being fare  to home owners . threats and intimidation seems to work for them.

they finished the club house because we stayed firm and said if they didn't we would get the state involved . the pool was also started but now they won't finish it .some people were told because of no money to finish or that because they had to sue us for eviction ,it is our falt that the pool isn't going to be finished.

we are so sad that we believed the sales people when buying our home .too many home owners want to sell and get out of the park . and the market is very bad . it makes you feel like the park owners own you and control your every move.

retirement is supposed to be enjoyable. not be controlled  like a stalag camp

the local news paper will not touch the issue because the park owner is local and has clout .

we would like ABC to come and find out what is going on here and ,maybe would help get the park owners to back off and leave all of us alone. This is America and freedom of speach and rights to market your home is what alot of Americans fought and died for . not to be ruled by a small family with power .

we were also told this park was an afordable low income for senior citizens.

we have nothing inclusive. in our lease . $470.00 permonth +$45.00 sewer, $75.00 lawn maint.,$12.00 water ,$85.00 average electrical ,RV storage $35.00.....= $722.00 average per month to live in a park and not including a morgage if you have one. most people looking at the forsale homes feel the price to live in the community is way too high..The $470.00 per month is profite to the park owners with nothing in return .just to beable to have the right to own a home under their control.
