I WAS/AM CONCERNED THAT HIS STORY GAVE A ONE SIDED VIEW OF TOG. IT MADE IT APPEAR, 1ST THAT TOG WAS JUST MADE UP OF HONOR GUARD CO.; THEREFORE, FAILING TO GIVE THE PUBLIC A FULL AND/OR TOTAL VIEW OF TOG. 2ND, I AM A VET. OF TOG, AND SERVED FROM 1962-65. DURING, WHICH "It was in 1963, that the 3rd Infantry was officially recognized as the The Old Guard"; 3rd, In 1965 "Long may it merit the appellation "The President's Own". We(I) stood vigil over President Kennedy's grave before it was bricked over; and 4, was the first to have the U.S. Army publish a book on the TOG in 1965. Not trying to take away anything from those, who serve now, but they and you need to recognize those, who led the way.
