I'm only a high school student, and I don't know much about the global issues going on around the world. In fact, some of you may not even take notice or concern to what I have to say just because I may be younger, but I feel that this is an issue that needs to be sought out by the public.

Right now as we know it, another genocide is happening right under our noses and we are some-what hidden to it. The western region of Darfur, located in Sudan, Africa, has faced over six years of genocidal violence. This entire conflict happened in 2003 when two rebel movements attacked the government military instillations as part of a campagin to fight against the historic, political, and economic marginalization of Darfur. Millions and millions of people are dying each day and I bet most people don't know anything about it. This all happened in 2003 and is still going on! For eight years! Four more years and it will have lasted as long as the holocaust! And the little we all know about it is horrifying. I'm already trying to raise social awarness at my school and to everyone in my community about this epidemic. This is a major issue that the government cannot hide from us. We need to help out those people and we need let everyone know what is really happening in our world. As I stated before, the government can't keep us in the dark from what is really happening in the world.
