It is a situation in Pakistan. The thing is it is definitely the matter of lesser evils. Back in the 90s before the current administration, a Pakistani guy was mentioning to me his country is just as corrupt as Nigeria. We think of Nigeria as the face of corruption for some reason and according to him, Pakistan at that time was not much better. If they did want Bhutto, it in my opinion was solely as a transitional measure to get to the real objective for Pakistanis at a grass roots level, which is a modern democracy without corruption. . .
Bhutto is the old order which is a semi functional democracy that is exceedingly corrupt. In India at least you have the option of doing it the noncorrupt way as I found out over the summer while there. Either for instance you can bribe the local official or actually pay the taxes to be unencumbered! In Pakistan, the only option might be to bribe the local official! This is the world over there and Musharref knows it. There is not much love for Bhutto or Mushareff but which is the lesser of 2 evils?
