Your recent coverage on the swine flu has been most informative and very helpful. The interviews with all of the doctors is especially helpful and really quells the fears of many people with facts and information from professionals . I do however take issue with your most recent interview with Dr. Besser on today's (10/13/09)program. Dr. Besser was quick to announce to Robin and the audience that he had a cold and that it was NOT the flu. He went on to tell us how to protect ourselves and how to recognize the flu versus a cold. All very helpful information, however the greatest service he could have provided was to wear a mask during the interview, thereby protecting Robin from catching his cold and helping to stop the spread of it to others. MOST IMPORTANTLY he would have displayed the UNSELFISH, proper and most intelligent way of helping to contain the flu epidemic. We should ALL be encouraged to wear a mask when we have a cold or flu.....early stages of swine flu appear to be a cold as I understand it. Why not show people how to unselfishly protect their fellow citizens and curb the epidemic.
Thanks for the great coverage on the swine flu but please encourage people to wear masks if they think they might be ill...even if it's ONLY A COLD.
