Hey-  I have been diagnosed and successfully treated for bipolar for 20 years.  I recently, 6 days ago, was injected with cortisone/prendisone for back problems.  (several lumbar discs)   I have been suffering from insomnia ever since.  Fortunately, i am getting a minimum of 4-5 hours of sleep a night.  However, my body needs 8-9 hours of sleep.  It is very frustrating, just started a job and my concentration is off.   Spoke to a PA at the Pain Management place, he gave me an Rx for 5mg cyclobenzaprine.  (I am very sensitive to drugs.  I don't want to get hooked on anything.)  I started with one, guessing i should try two before bedtime.    I am very apprehensive about more drugs and the way i am feeling.

Have i mentioned I am weaning off zoloft, down to 25 mg. every OTHER day, and have ben clean and sober for 14 years (alcoholism).  So far, I feel in control and am aware of what is going on with my head, don't drive when I am tired.  So, what can i do?  Should i bring my psychiatrist, GP in on this or should i stay consulting with the Pain Management people>  thank you
