I would love to see more focus on us breast cancer survivors and other cancer patients who have to had to go to battle again because the cancer has metastasize to our vital organs!  Stage 4 doesn't automatically mean a death sentence anymore.  We are now being treated as if we have a chronic disease which is progress.  However, we need all the information we can get to beat this!  We need to know about all the conventional and non-conventional treatments available.  What has proven effective?  What hasn't?  Not only am I doing chemotherapy (for the 3rd time) I am also looking at learning yoga, meditation, therapeutic journaling to help.  For instance, would going to an acupuncture help etc?  I am also trying to be 100% organic in my personal products, food and cleaning products.  Will this help?  What vitamins, minerals and supplements help or don't.  For instance, I've been told to avoid soy.  I am also waiting on a bio-mat to arrive to help de-toxify my body.  I have a kick-butt attitude and a positive outlook as well (thankfully that comes naturally).

Finally, no one talks about us who have independent health insurance (and pay exorbitant premiums and deductibles for) and who are about to lose it because we max out.  I just learned I have a pathetic life time amout of $250,000 (I swore I thought I had a million) and I am already over $105,000.  I just learned I can try to get disabilty from Social Security so after two years on that I can qualify for Medicare (but I will run out of insurance before then).  However, I haven't worked since the company I worked for went bankrupt 7 years ago and I had planned to go back but found myself continuining to fight cancer everytime I turned around.  So what am I to do?  Nobody has an answer for me!  There are no high-risk pools in Georgia.  I am willing to pay the premium etc. I will quickly run out of money if I have to pay what the doctors, labs, pharmacies really want to charge for services and prescriptions!  Nobody wants to hire someone in my condition - I always would have to take off work for chemo and side effects!  So I am afraid the stress of not knowning my insured future will take me a step backward.  HELP!!!!
