We circumcised our 2 boys. My husband is European/Catholic and not circumcised. When we were deciding to circumcise or not - he was 100% for having the procedure done. I was against it at first. He had a list of reasons. First, he was self conscious about his appearance (he was a teenager when he moved to the US and when playing sports, most of the time he was the only one that looked 'different' in the locker room). Second, he has had some medical issues where it was difficult for his #### 'retract'. Also, dryness is an issue. He has had conversations with his Dr. about possibly having a circumcision procedure done in the future. Third: Yeast infections. He has to have superb hygiene. He has a prescription for a topical cream and powder that he need to use when he gets a flare up. There was a period of time when I was getting yeast infections days after we had had , well you know. Took us awhile and some conversations with my ob/gyn to figure out he was passing it on to me. Not fun. As a result, we are very careful. This is a huge item of discussion with some of my mommy group friends. We all have our reasons, beliefs, etc. You need to do what you believe is best for your son. Best place to start, ask your doctor.
