Recently I was diagnosed with high blood pressure, I am a 47 year old female. My doctor did not recommend an appointment with a cardiologist but I feel like I might need to see a specialist in that field, when is the right time to see a cardiologist?
My father had high blood pressure, before he died he had bypass surgery followed by a major stroke a couple of years later, he died at 68yrs. My mother had some abnormal heart rythm issues and diabetes in her life, she died following a battle with cancer at 68yrs.
I have started a walking workout routine, walking several times per week, and am eating healthier. I am also taking a diuretic prescribed by my PCP.
