I just heard that there are more mini columns per square inch in the autistic brain compared to the neurotypical brain. Also I heard that the autistic brain make more local connections with the mini columns and fewer connections to the areas such as the prefrontal cortex of the brain.

So then is it possible that all autistic children have autism from birth but the symptoms of autism do not manifest strongly enough until the brain starts to develop the mini columns in an autistic manner?
