Why cant we get very large pumps like on fireboats and pump the spilt oil (and water) into several oil tankers. the oil will foat and the  surplus water will sink inside the tanker and then the surplus water can be returned (pumped back) into the ocean.

Yes it will take dozens if not hundreds of pumps, but it can be done......
