My vet told me my new kitten (Oreo) was female.  At 4.5 months of age Oreo was taken to the same vet for a declaw and spay.  The vet proceeded with a female operation only to find out that Oreo was a male.  The vet found a kidney which he thought was an ovary and cut a ureter which he thought was a fallopian tube.  Needless to say, due to his mistakenly identifying the sex of the kitten and then proceeding to cut the wrong organs, Oreo was taken to a critical care facility to have his left kidney removed.  He is recovering but is not himslef yet.  I have issued a complaint with the corporate headquarters of Banfield Vet Hospital but no one has responded to my complaint in two weeks nor has the incompetent doctor ever called to see how Oreo is.  What should I do?  Is there animal malpractice?  What is my next step to ensure this doesn't happen to another poor animal?  Thank you in advance for your response.
